Got too many games? Fear not, here’s more!

At this point, thirty minutes ago, StuffedWombat, the developer of Gutwhale, asked on Twitter what long term effect this 1000+ game bundle will have on the people that will buy games/that have big gaming backlogs already… and well,… here’s my answer to that.

When I speak of “this bundle” I mean the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality that the itch.io people put together featuring tons of great games and other lesser-known titles. For the next few days, you get about 1637 items by 1304 creators at a price of $5… instead of a regular price of $9,083. For only five bucks you can not only support the charity but also unlock DRM-free copies of MidBoss, Night of the Consumers, Odd Realm, Beacon, A Short Hike, Celeste, Overland, Night in the Woods, Long Gone Days, Tonight We Riot, Catlateral Damage, Nuclear Throne, Minit, Death and Taxes, OneShot, The Stillness of the Wind, a bunch of RPG assets, Fossil Hunters, Last Word, Crest, Pyre, Mon-Cuties for All, Octodad, and many more!

There are a ton of titles in there that I’ve got wishlisted on steam for a while now or that I’ve seen screenshots of over on Twitter and that I wanted to review for my blog and now I’ve got them all… for five bucks. Sure, I own a lot of them already and some of these titles (like the RPG maker assets) are probably not going to get installed any time soon… but regardless of that there’s a ton of value in this package as well as a great cause as all proceeds will be donated to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and Community Bail Fund split 50/50! Isn’t that lovely?

But now, back to the original post idea: StuffedWombat (jokingly) said that people won’t buy any small games any time soon as they already have so much to play, which leads to the question of if that’s true.

I personally have a fixed budget for each month that gets spent on free-time-activities, be it new books, games, going out with friends or games. With the lockdown being a thing “going out with friends” is not much of an option for me personally and with my backlog of books being a thing and exams coming around the corner, I don’t really need new books, to be honest, so naturally, I spend a lot of it on these kinds of things. This month, for instance, I’ve purchased this bundle, used my twelve bucks on Humble Choice, and bought Sea of Thieves, so that leaves me with little to nothing else.

By limiting myself to a certain amount of money I don’t get to go on these spending-sprees when the different sales are around the corner, like the upcoming Steam Summer Sale.

…and since I didn’t spend all that much last month, I decided to donate twenty bucks to the Trevor Project as part of our recent charity-stream and donate some money to some other projects. I feel like that’s a good cause and ever since I quit smoking two months ago, I’ve got more money available for games, which is a good thing. It’s a bit of a motivational thing.

Now that I own this bundle, I obviously won’t need to spend too much money on titles in this bundle, right?

Well,… technically yes. I guess I won’t have to buy titles like Pyre or Tonight We Riot as I already own them… but I kind of want to also have them on Steam, if that makes sense?

Nuclear Throne, for instance, was one of my first purchases on Steam. Regardless of that, I also own it on the Epic Game Store and (now) twice on itch.io thanks to huge bundles. Do I need this game four times? No. Is it worth it? Hell yes. It was free on Epic Games but Epic Games doesn’t feature a lot of the features that I like in Steam like Achievements or INGAME SCREENSHOTS, FFS. WHY THE FUCK IS THAT NOT A THING YET? – sorry, I lost my composure.

And well, itch.io is something I browse now and then, but I haven’t made any purchases on here apart from the bundle for racial justice and equality as well as the COVID-relief bundle.

And there are still plenty of games on my steam-wishlist like Firewatch that I really want to play someday that we don’t have in this game yet. If it ends up to be in the upcoming steam summer sale, I’ll happily grab it if my funds allow it. And that although I already own 700+ unplayed games. I’m already spending a lot less on games and my backlog is shrinking slowly (if you don’t look at the pile of 1000+ games from itch.io that I now have) but regardless of that there will be times where I’ll buy releases that I find interesting, simply for the sake of owning and eventually playing them.

Of course, eventually, I’ll have to limit the funds that I can spend on free-time-activities. When I have to deal with taxes and kids and pets and stuff, I’ll have different priorities. When I have a cat, I reckon that that cat will get a separate set of funds dedicated to its food and toys and whatever… and whenever I need to, I’ll reassign the game-funds to it or my food-funds or whatever. Yup, sounds like a fool-proof plan to me. Obviously, the game-funds would have to decrease… but I’d also have a job then, so that’d mean… more money! Maybe I’ll be able to work through my backlog and review more games, that way, but for now, I think my limited funds are alright. It’s an alright measure.

And to get back on track, people will always spend money on games. Even if some of us will spend less in the future, we will still spend now and then and support the (Indie) Game industry in one way or another.

And that’s fine. I doubt that any devs will have to fear that they’ll go extinct eventually. And I’m sure among all the hoarders and buyers there’s plenty of indie game promoters that have to buy games to get their blog posts and youtube videos and whatever out, so at least those will fuel that ever-raging and never-ending fire called the “backlog”.

Either way, I hope you’ve enjoyed this post. It’s a bit of a silly prompt, I guess, but I wanted to give my two cents to the topic and also mention that I plan on getting a cat once I’m done with my studies. Lovely.

I wish you a wonderful day.

Cheers!

TSS#63 – The current situation and my opinion, I guess

This is a shorter longer post and potentially a bit “heavier” than usual but this time around it’s about “our voice” and about politics in a way. It’s about my beliefs and my take on the matter and everything that is going on right now… and I’m telling all kinds of -ists and -phobes to fuck off. Despite being “heavier”, there will be no cat pictures in this post… or really any pictures at all. I’d say “enjoy” but I don’t think that this is all that joyful.

Welcome to another Stray Sheep!

Currently, as all of you probably are aware of, a whole bunch of things are happening over there in the United States of America and while we’re obviously not really affected by it too much here in Germany, it’s still quite worrisome. As a blogger or as a streamer or as really just anyone with a Twitter account, you’ve got a voice that “you’ve got to use” and while I understand that a lot of people don’t want to “politicize” their own opinion on social media or on their blogs, streams, etc., I also feel as if I cannot just ignore the fact that a whole bunch of people there are suffering with riots going on and with “not enough” people talking about it.

It’s a bit of a dilemma, I guess, in the sense that the “purpose” of my blog and the “intention” of me as a person are two different things.

My blog is mainly a hobby and is mainly there to promote Indie Games and work through my backlog. I do play games, I do write about it. I end up with a lot of different posts about all kinds of things and it’s generally rather light-hearted and focused around information and potentially even (if you like my posts) entertainment.

And that’s important. When Covid-19 was more of a topic (I mean… it still is), it was a relief of sorts for me personally when I got to read a post that is not about the or a virus. It was lovely to watch a video or a stream where people would just completely ignore everything. At the same time, we even joked about a Zombie apocalypse in my stream when someone brought it up once and it was a lot of fun and people seemed to enjoy that quite a bit as it served as a bit of a “change of pace” of sorts.

Now with my Twitter feed consisting of retweets of police brutality, racism, people that were hurt or killed in the riots and shops getting plundered, I thought I should say something, too.

But while this obviously isn’t the place to start a political discussion, this also is not a place to just ignore everything going on and to just stay quiet about it to not risk any backlash. But… do I have to fear anything like that?

I mean, sure, people could unfollow my blog or my twitter or twitch or whatever but in the end, the question of the day is: Do I care?
And the answer to that would be a definite “no”. As simple as that.

They’re only followers and views and all that and I don’t think I’d like to have people around here that possibly harm people offline.

I’m a left-ish liberal and an equalist, I guess. Politically speaking I am not a communist but I would still consider myself “left”, I guess. And as far as my lib-views and the equalist-part go, I believe in equality and that every person should be treated the same with the same chances in life.

While I know that you cannot “not have a bias” of sorts against people, I’d like to think that we should try our hardest at making a place like that where we are truly equal a reality. Little by little. Day by day. Treat others friendly and accept them no matter their political, religious or other views. No matter their heritage, their appearance, sexuality, gender, sex, their colour of skin, age or their profession. That’s something I’d like to work towards.

People are different and you cannot like every person. I know that. But I feel like it’d be nice if we could work towards a goal like that. I haven’t had any bad experiences with refugees or whatever and hence I don’t think that all refugees are bad. Heck, my parents were refugees. It’d be ironic if I was against them.

Just because there are some bad people, I don’t hate all people. Just because of some cops in the U.S. and in Germany and in other countries, I don’t hate all cops. Even now there are cops walking among the protesters… and even now, even among the cops out there that are doing their cop-stuff, there are people helping old people get away or stopping police brutality.

Right now we just get to see less of that. Right now we only hear about the negative cases… and the victims and the cases where everything is going to shit. Right now we only hear about the bad cases where the press or where the medics get pushed and kicked and pepper-sprayed. Right now we only hear about the cruel jerks that are wearing a uniform out there. But I’m 100% that not all cops are evil. “Heck, even my father was a cop” would be something that I’d say if that war that my parents had to flee from hadn’t had happened. And even if my grandma and other relatives died in that war, I am 100% sure that not all Serbians are bad people.

We only get to hear about the bad ones. We never remember the good ones. We only get to see the bad news, we never hear about the good ones. Don’t judge everyone based on the actions of a few.

And while the “me being an equalist” part may sound as if I’d belong to the “All Lives Matter” camp, I would like to also clarify that I hate it when people use “ALM” instead of “BLM”. If anything, spread #BlackLivesMatter or #BLM on social media and not some stupid “Hey, we white people exist, too”-hashtag. When your neighbours’ house is burning down, you shouldn’t start to water down your own house… or rather the houses that also matter but that aren’t burning right now.

OBVIOUSLY, white people also can suffer from “racism” in a way but it’s not as frequent and not as bad as it is for black people to get shot when someone calls the police to come to those black people’s houses. When you get treated so differently just because of something that you couldn’t decide on at birth.

We can’t decide how we’re born and we can’t decide whether or not we get born at all. We only get to decide how we live our lives and how we treat others.

And I hate the concept of “privilege”, since people will always find something to bring you down, no matter what class you are from. The concept of “privilege” and not being able to talk about racism or discrimination based on your sex, sexuality, gender, colour of skin, heritage or age (aka “straight white old heterosexual male christian thin people”), is absurd since it seems to be just another form of discrimination…

But I guess in this particular instance, even I’d have to say that some people should just sit the fuck down when it comes to their attitude and their whole fucking “All Lives Matter” bullshit. You don’t get shot on sight for being white. You don’t lose a job because of being white. You don’t get framed for crimes for being white. Please think about it logically. Don’t try to stop a fire that doesn’t exist in your house while ignoring the fire in your neighbours’ house.

Only recently a black birdwatcher got accused of “threatening a woman’s life” when he told her to leash up her dog in a park. She called the cops and lied about “an afro-american man threatening her life” in the park. The whole process got filmed by the man. The whole process of her falsely accusing a black man of something that could get him killed if the wrong cops would get there – oh, and all while she’d abuse her dog while being filmed.

I just feel like some people can’t fucking keep quiet about their beliefs or whatever. People that actually talk about the “All Live Matters” hashtag **right now** are just like those “Straight Pride” people, in a way. They have to make everything about themselves. You shouldn’t take pride in being white or straight. Not like that, at least. Not that pride.

(Had to edit the post here as I forgot these last paragraphs initially, despite me taking notes on wanting to mention that very accurate comic about watering down a non-burning house while your neighbour is dying in a fire and the “all lives matter”/”straight pride” people and the Karen that abused her dog while falsely accusing a black man of somthing he never has done and everything. So, sorry for that long edit here.)

And while I know that in the States segregation and all of that has not been “gone” for too long, officially speaking, I don’t personally think that that’s an argument for racism or racial bias or police brutality and flat out murders. I feel like that’s especially a reason why we should do our best to bring people to court for what they do, even if they’re policemen.

Germany has had its past and while I personally have nothing to do with that, I still feel like we have to always remember the past and hold it dear so nothing like that ever happens again. It’s only been 75 years after all. Same goes for other countries in Europe and other places in the world, of course. There seems to be a rise of “suspicious” parties in the world and while, of course, you can’t just forbid every political party in the world, I don’t think that you should tolerate any intolerance.

My views on a certain president are probably rather obvious as well and it’s not due to “the media telling me that he’s bad” but rather due to the bigotry and hypocrisy in calling out other people for “fake news” but being against Twitter labelling actual fake news as… well… fake news.

In German, there’s a term called “Lügenpresse” which is basically Nazi-jargon and which means “fake news” or “lying media”/”lying press”. It gets used in the same way to shut up everyone who is against one.

If you tolerate intolerance, after all, the tolerant people will be the ones that end up not getting tolerated. The political extremes are, in essence, extremes that just fight each other to the death and screw everyone in between over… and if we tolerate bigotry, we’ll end up as the ones that are not tolerated.

We’ll be the ones that get pushed into a corner and eventually, we’ll be the ones that suffer as the racists and sexists and supremacists start rising again. If you tolerate the intolerant, you’ll be the ones that suffer.

And, well,… extremism. I’m against it. Obviously. Every form of fanatism and extremism is bad in my opinion. No matter if it’s left or right, liberal or authoritarian (or whatever the counterpart to liberal is). It’s bad.

While a lot of the cases of politically motivated cases of violence in Germany are committed by the far-right, I’d never say that the far-left is any less bad. I feel like it shouldn’t matter who you are or what you stand for in those cases. Crimes are crimes.

So the people out there that are peacefully protesting against everything that is going on right now… those people are heroes in a way. They are doing it the right way, peacefully, even when their lives can be at risk right now for it. “Just stay safe, please” is what I’m trying to think but I guess that’s easy to say when you’re on a whole fucking other continent. I’m sorry if I sound like an idiot in this post. It’s easy for me to write this when I’m basically on the other side of the planet, I guess.

The people that are plundering stores and that are hurting others. The people that are throwing rocks and that are cursing ALL the others. The people that are destroying so much that so many people have built together. Those people suck. The violent ones who are violent for the sake of being violent. Crimes are crimes. Be it violent policeman or violent protesters.

And of course, I have a lot of other thoughts on politics and social norms and we can surely have a discussion on those as well but generally speaking, I’d like my blog to be relatively neutral when it comes to politics… but I also don’t want it to be a platform for any forms of “-ists” or “-phobes”.

A while ago, I was torn up about reviewing a certain game which was or still is great… but I don’t think that I should support its devs. And not all of the devs are like that but the lead dev and her girlfriend are trans-exclusionary radical feminists or transphobes that have secret discord channels and stuff where they’d make fun of and bully trans-women in their community, pretty badly.

And honestly, nowadays, I still am torn up about it but I don’t think it’s worth the headache when it comes to this topic… and I don’t think it’s good to provide any coverage for a game when it’s going to directly support someone who hates trans-people so much that it hurts. I don’t think I’d like to support the intolerant like that and end up hurting those that I am an ally of.

So, if you’re a racist, a sexist, a whatever-ist or if you’re against the LGBTQIA+ community or certain people of colour or that kind of stuff, please fuck off.

And I don’t mean that in a “you can’t have your own thoughts or ideas or opinions” kind of way but rather in a “don’t talk about it and we’re fine since I won’t know about it” kind of way.

If you feel the urge to be very open about opinions, ideas and positions that harm other people… fuck off.

“Die Gedanken sind frei”, the thoughts are free. You can’t be judged for what you think in secret. If you think that all X have to die, then that’s obviously bad… but if you think that and don’t tell anyone, nobody is going to know… and obviously, nobody can judge you for it.

I have friends that are politically speaking on the other side of the spectrum than me… but they are not “too” far on the other side, I’d say. They are not far-right and they are not racist or whatever. They just do not agree with me in the same way as I do. But as long as they don’t commit crimes, it’s fine, right? As long as you don’t harm others or insult them or harass them or whatever, it’s fine to have your own thoughts and opinions.

And by voicing these thoughts and opinions, of course, I could become a target of sorts, too, but I really doubt that that will happen. Of course, people could unfollow me on Twitter or Twitch or WordPress but I doubt that I’d be bothered by that if it’s really just the racists, sexists, and other forms of -ists and -phobes that are leaving.

I probably won’t talk about politics too much on this blog but generally speaking, I’d like this to be a “safe space” of sorts where people come and read my posts and have a fun time. If you have any thoughts on the matter you can voice it in the comment section. I personally feel like having my opinions and my stances on things out there, like this, is going to be helpful in a way. I think it’s going to be important to be transparent like that. And while I’d like to create more posts on games and upcoming releases and everything to entertain and distract from everything that is going on right now… I also don’t want to just ignore everything that is going on in the world.

I don’t think that we need to watch how all the content creators out there are behaving themselves and how they are treating the situation. I don’t think everyone must display their views if they don’t want to and I don’t think it’s okay to judge people for not speaking up about it…

I do not think it’s all that necessary of me to write this post, in a way, but at the same time, I don’t think it’s bad. If anything, it’s better this way. I’ve been struggling for the past couple of days with putting my thoughts into words and with “writing a tweet on the matter”… I felt as if I’d have to write something on the matter and as if I’d have to do something about it to be there for others as I’m helpless in other ways and as I can’t help at all regarding actual ways of helping. I read about people judging others for not using some hashtag or whatever… and I don’t think that’s necessarily good. I don’t think it’s good to judge others for not hopping onto a bandwagon and I don’t think it’s good to only voice your opinion because others pressured you into that.

I feel like a few words of love or support would be a small way of helping but I am not good at all with words… and hence I’ve been struggling. I’ve been frustrated in a way. I ended up just tweeting “all the love to you out there” or something like that but I don’t think that that’s going to help. I’m not sure if that was the right thing to do but it certainly isn’t the time for “perfect tweets” or some stupid “campaigns” or movements or whatever.

That may be a bit contradictory in a way but I wanted to write this post despite it being unnecessary. If this is a non-political kind of place, we don’t need to know about my political views… and if I want to promote Indie Games, I shouldn’t tell certain people to “fuck off”, especially as they may want to buy some Indie Games that I’ve reviewed… right?

Hence, in a way, it doesn’t make sense for me to tell you all of this but I really wanted to get it off my chest and talk about it. If you ever feel like talking or if you need someone to vent to, my Twitter DMs are open (I think?) and you may message me on Discord at MagiWasTaken#4357.

Thanks for reading so far! I hope that this post didn’t bore or disturb anyone in any way. I just felt like it. Maybe I should create a second blog just for my political opinions on matters that don’t affect me… but then again, this post is so long that I got all kinds of politics covered for the next few years, I think… so that shouldn’t be too mandatory.

Have a nice day.

TSS#59 – Indiecator – Now on Instagram!

Social media is weird… or rather: I haven’t really figured it out. I’m constantly shitposting on that Instagram-account that my first ever girlfriend forced me to create and after 502 posts of uh… mountains… vineyards… vacation… museums… “Do Not Touch” signs that I’ve touched… and me, I guess,… well… apparently 166 people are following me over there. 166 people decided that my shitposts are not as shitty as I think they are and because of that I thought: “Why not do the same for my blog?”

Well… and there’s a problem. I had to figure out how to post pictures on Instagram using my PC. I didn’t necessarily feel like downloading the pictures onto my phone and posting them on my phone, too, as I really suck at typing on my phone… and I didn’t feel like switching to Safari or – even worse – Chrome… so in the end, I tried out downloading the Desktop-Instagram-App from the Windows Store, only to find out that it does the same as the browser-view: Everything but upload pictures.

And in the end, I installed an add-on that switches your browser window to mobile view… and that does the trick. I’m able to upload pictures quite easily and have now started to ship out some of my reviews onto Instagram, too… but in short… and with hashtags. My only problem right now is that I hardly know anything about networking and stuff on Instagram… on my private account, people probably are following me because they “know” me in the real world… but nobody knows me online, so how can I make a following?

Well, first up, I’ve started following a few (indie) game studios that I found on Instagram, including The Molasses Flood (who are right now working on “Drake Hollow” and who did a splendid job on “The Flame In The Flood”), Cadabra Games (who did a good job with “Adore” and the latest few updates!), PaintBucket Games (who made “Through the Darkest of Times”) and Simon Boxer (from Twice Different – the studio behind “Satan’s Workshop” and “Ring of Pain”) as well as the official Gamescom account and the MHW-account and 11-bit studios.

By following others, you essentially show up in other people’s feeds, too. You’ll get to see their posts, can comment or like them and other people automatically see you, which is great. It’s just like when you check out that blog that someone is running who commented on your blog posts… or when you check out a streamer that has hosted or raided you… or when you tweet “Oh, that’s an interesting game! Can’t wait to review it” and the devs message you about review keys, which I personally find quite neat as it shows how confident they are in their game!

Ignore the name, I changed it and can’t be arsed to take another screenshot

Naturally, I also followed #indiegamedeveloper #indiedev and #indiegames to be up-to-date with interesting releases. Following hashtags is a great way to discover new stuff – it’s just like when you’re going into the “discovery”-tab on Steam and find some weird shit.

And next up, I’ll be promoting the fact that this page already exists in this post here (54 people who might be interested in an Instagram page), on twitter (92 people that might be interested in an Instagram page), Facebook (13 people that might like the Instagram page (just kidding, nobody uses Facebook anyways)), and on Twitch where we’re at 148 followers who might be interested in an Instagram page.
So, essentially, I’ll just post or tweet about it once or twice and then I’ll forget about it over there – as usual. I mean, I even forgot that I had a Facebook page for the blog.

A problem that I’ve encountered is that I have no clue about hashtags and what to do with those. I’ve put stuff into the first few posts like #blaugust #blaugust2019 (these were posts from back then!) and #review #indiegame #roguelite #roguelike #zerotohero and whatever to mention a few… and so far four people are actually following me on there which is interesting as these four people will probably see my posts about Indie Games like Pool Panic or Omensight that nobody has ever heard of and they may consider checking those devs out. 🙂 Who knows?

But overall, Instagram is a weird place. I don’t really use it unless I’ve got a picture of my fan or my plant that I want to show on my personal/shitposting account… and with this new Instagram page, I’ve got a whole bunch of work to do as I’d like to put all the review posts on there… generally, I could consider putting other posts on there, too, but I’m not too sure if I really want to go through the effort of putting out more than a hundred posts from ten months within the next few weeks or so.

I could see myself putting out highlights and stuff from Twitch on there but primarily I’d like to keep it about the blog and about reviews. I feel like that’d be interesting.

I don’t really know if I want to grow too much on these platforms and stuff but I feel like a lot of the indie gems I’m reviewing might profit from actually being read by more people… and in the end it will probably help out some of those more promising devs that nobody has ever heard of.

So, if you use Instagram and want to be up to date with my reviews (I’m half-joking by the way) or if you want to see my old posts resurface again, hit me up over there, I guess…

And uh, twitter is here and twitch is here and Facebook is here (but I never check the Facebook page and it just automatically posts anyways) and here’s my discord server and Tumblr is here (completely forgot about that as well! :O) and uh, stay safe and healthy and at home and have a nice warm cup of tea or something! 🙂

Cheers!

This post is part of a challenge called BLAPRIL. The goal is to post as much as possible during the 30 days of April. There are different themes during some of the weeks and a lot of mentors, newbies and participants participating. Feel free to check this hub-post out and check out the other participants!

The Stray Sheep #35 – en passant

So, I thought I’d talk about the new headers I made for my blog (which I’m rather proud of!), how uni has been (as it just started), and what the current situation/final decision on the Heartbeat review is & something else.

Regarding the “en passant”, I thought it’d be cool to talk about how my week’s been now and then, like a diary – but public. And I like chess, so “en passant” felt like the right choice to make here!
Also “en passant” is a lot better than “Headerache!”, right? 🙂

The original pic

First things first, I love Dr Pepper and I thought the blog should resemble that.

But I needed more cans for that, so I had to buy three more cans which I enjoyed a lot (of course) and then I just shot the photo of this Dr Pepper Wall, made it look better (saturation and stuff?), then I’ve also added different “effects” to it. I really love the Pixel and Spiral one! Though the mosaic-esque (mosaesque? :D) is quite neat as well… Oh well, they’ll cycle through at random, so whenever you reload the page, you’ll see one of eight different header pictures! I may add more to the future and do special ones for Christmas and stuff but for now, these should be good enough.

The reason for me changing it at all was the fact that I actually wanted to do that quite early on when I created my blog back then in July, but then I kind of forgot and when I got annoyed by my headers being so different every time and also not cropped in the right way, I thought I should make a change.

That change was to crop them all in the recommended way, resulting in some games not being recognizable (as a friend mentioned, while someone else said that it sucks).
Also it didn’t make sense to see a header of “Cat Quest 2” when you’re reading a review on any other game.
Now, it looks better, in my opinion, and I’m kind of proud of it. Also, I can get rid of around 78 Dr Pepper cans. I’ll show you some in this post, I guess!

On to the other topic: University!

Uni has just started and I kicked it off with a fever, which was why I missed six hours worth of philosophy classes about Nietzsche, Freud, something about “objectivity, rationality and relativism” – and my Geometry course, which sucked. But apparently, those classes (apart from Geometry) were too full anyway, so that a friend of mine couldn’t listen to the Prof at all. I may have to change my Tuesday-lectures, which will be difficult and annoying to deal with.

Wednesday is my new Monday!

On Wednesdays, I’ve got Uni from 10 am to 6 pm and from 6 pm to 9 pm I’ve got literature club meetups. The courses themselves are quite full as well but really cool. I’m learning about thought experiments in one lecture while I’m trying to understand Machiavelli’s “Discorsi” in another. It’s quite cool actually. The other three hours are filled with math classes, so that’s that, I guess. On Thursday and Friday, I ended up having a huge migraine again, so I decided not to go to uni and instead ask a friend to send me pics of it.

So, I’ll be rather busy in the upcoming semester but I’ll also learn a lot for sure!

And the nearly-last topic is about Heartbeat, again.

I had a huge headache for quite some time now – and it may have been caused by me thinking too hard about whether or not I should review it. Recommending it means supporting a transphobic dev, while not recommending it would means giving some devs at Chumsoft shit for one dev’s views. Not writing a review about it, would be like denying that game’s existence solely based on someone else’s political views… in the end, I’ve decided not to post at all, which I’ve declared in a post-posting-edit, in “Large”. Thought I should say it here as well.

Last but not least: Drama with a person twitter

I don’t like it when people argue and I myself don’t like arguing at all, either. If possible I’d like to resolve things nicely. A while ago I got that rude message (which I’ve made a post about that was meant to be a bit uplifting as in “Don’t change yourself for others” or something like that).
Long story short, that person was rather rude to me in the private messages, called me a stalker in several tweets as I’ve answered to her message once and she kept blocking me, then unblocking me to write a rude and toxic message before ultimately blocking me again.

In the end, I decided to block her myself, too. Blocking someone doesn’t seem like something an adult should do as you should try to just avoid people on your own when you can’t get along with them. Blocking people is like running away while ignoring someone is a bit less childish, in my opinion, but I guess sometimes it’s necessary.

So, all in all:

Ever since I decided not to post about Heartbeat and ever since I’ve blocked that toxic person, my head’s been better, so I guess it’s all fine now. I’m quite sure that the Heartbeat-matter messed with me more but removing all kinds of saltiness and toxicity can’t be bad. Next step would be to stop playing League of Legends, I guess! (that’s a joke btw)

Tomorrow I’ll have to get some duties done and finish this other review here up, but I may as well post it on Monday or Tuesday, as I don’t want to stress myself too much, still being sickly and all of that.

Either way, I hope you all enjoyed this post and I hope that you all are well/not sick at all. Stay hydrated!

Cheers!

The Stray Sheep #11 – Social Media

So in today’s Stray Sheep I’m talking about social media and stuff.

Or rather.. I’m sharing links in this post so that we’ve got one post with all of it! …Well, “all of it” until I look into the other things that you can connect Jetpack to.

Anyways, when I opened this blog, I created a Steam Group! But…nobody cares about that, I guess. Or at least I couldn’t be arsed to ask any of my friends to join (as I was kinda busy with my blog and stuff) and I always forget to invite people, so I’m still the only member.
So, if you’d like to, join the steamgroup or follow the curator-page! 🙂

If that’s your jam, you can also follow/like my facebook-page or check out my twitter account. I was told that only people over 30 use facebook but that would make me the youngest 30-year-old I know as I’m only in my twenties.
Since I’m also streaming on Twitch (as of late), I’m also using Twitter to promote my twitch-streams.

If you’re still using Tumblr… I created a tumblr blog and have no clue how that thing works. It just posts it on there whenever I post stuff.

And if you’d like to message me, you can always do so on Steam, Twitter or on my discord!

I thought it’d be neat to post these all, so that people can find my content a lot easier.

“Spread the word! Someone here likes Dr. Pepper more than other soft drinks and Pepsi more than Coke, but Coke Zero more than Pepsi! What a weirdo!”

you possibly

And as for other future posts, I’m currently working on another shorter review and I still need to play an upcoming game called “Miracle Mia” by Shademare, a father-&-son-team of Indie-Devs that are releasing their first game next week. Luckily they provided me with a review key, so I’m going to review that as well and tell you my thoughts about it in the near future.
Also next sunday, a new review is coming out on a cool card-based ARPG! Since it’s been scheduled for quite some time now, it’s another long review, so stay tuned for that!

Anyways, cheers!

This post is part of a contest/challenge called Blaugust! The goal is to post as much as possible and participants are awarded with different prizes depending on the goal they achieved. My aim is to post on all 31 days of August and if you’d like to know more about this “event”, you should check this post out.

Note: Edited the Twitter-Page to be up-to-date and added the Twitch-Link.
