The Stray Sheep #27 – We made it, lads

So, the lovely Belghast of Tales from the Aggronaut wrapped up Blaugust the other day, listing all the participants, mentors and winners.

I participated in Blaugust as Newbie as I, in fact, am a newbie when it comes to blogging and blaugusting and all that. I made it to 31 posts in August and hence was achieved….

THE RAINBOW AWARD!

I love it. Was it worth it? Well, hell yeah! I really love it. It’s so big and shiny. I guess, it was kind of hard to post here and there and I ended up stressing over nothing sometimes when I made a post for the sake of posting it instead of caring about the quality which lead to me editing that post post-posting. I shouldn’t do that. Now, I’m still posting daily since it became a habbit of mine but it’s a lot less stressful since I don’t have to.

I’ve racked up quite a few of drafts in the past couple of weeks with plenty of stray sheep and reviews laying around, waiting to get finished. I just never really felt like finishing them due to me not knowing how to finish them at all. I still need to play more Ori and the Blind Forest and am planning to publish that review soon, too. There’re also reviews on Rogue Legacy, The Bonfire: Forsaken Lands, Grim Nights, Neurovoider, and other games planned and I always felt like I need to play those games again to get some more input and improve the review. Some of them also were quite long, so I need to edit those and decimate the word count! It’s a bit of a hassle in some cases, so that’s why they’re just drafts right now.

As far as other posts go, I’ve seen that my “Back to the Roots” post did quite fine and I’m planning on releasing a similar post where I talk about the shift in video game genres I enjoyed. Also I need to figure out what game I should play next for Late to the Party #2 since #1 did quite well, too.

I kind of got the hang of it, I think. I’ll keep on blogging without causing myself too much stress over it and I kind of like the streak as it continues, right now. So, if it ever breaks, that’s no problem, I guess. If it doesn’t until the next Blaugust, well… awesome! I’m getting quite hyped over this. :)

And, you read that right, I’m planning on participating in next year’s Blaugust, too! I think that that might be quite a lot of fun. In the next few months, I’m planning to go self-host but I may as well leave it as it is for now until I’ve saved up for a new PC. We’ll see.

Anyways, that’s it for today’s post. I hope you enjoyed this quick little update. If I end up not posting daily anymore, rest assured, I’m probably still alive, though a bit busy. My goal for the time until Blaugust2020 is to post at least weekly and get out a review every two weeks. If it’s more than that, that’s great, I guess. Just not less.

Have a nice day!

    1. Thanks, mate! :) Well, I got to improve my work-speed review-wise, so I’ll release review after review for the next view weeks.. probably. :)
